Emergency Fund

Emergency financial assistance for our neighbors in crisis.

Our Emergency Fund works in partnership with local area churches, the United Way of Washington County – East, and other contributors to provide emergency financial assistance to individuals and families in crisis.

Through the Emergency Fund, we help clients stay in their homes with rental and mortgage assistance, maintain their heat and other utility services, help them keep their jobs when a transportation related emergency arises, and provide assistance with medical bills and prescription medication purchases.

    • In addition, we work with Washington County and other area agencies to address the needs of homeless families and individuals in, hopefully, a comprehensive approach.
    • We also work to refer clients to other services and agencies that can provide them with additional help.
    • Payments are made directly to the client’s creditor always, never to clients.
    • The Emergency Fund operates by telephone hotline only.
