Christie Wanderer, a local Stillwater resident, and owner of Forge and Foundry Distillery, is connected to Valley Outreach in several ways.

Christie first started volunteering at Valley Outreach in 2017. She primarily works in the food shelf, assisting clients with their shopping. “It is such a great outlet for me. I look forward to each volunteer shift,” Christie said.

When Christie isn’t running her business or volunteering at Valley Outreach, she enjoys entering contests and sweepstakes online. One recent sweepstake she entered proved worthwhile for Valley Outreach, with Christie winning a cash prize for an organization of her choice. Through this unique opportunity, she donated $25,000 to support the community.  

She chose Valley Outreach as the prize money recipient because of her personal connection to our mission. Not only is Christie a volunteer, but people close to her have benefitted from our services after moving to Minnesota to get on their feet.
