For Groups

Supporting our community is the reason Valley Outreach is here.

A temporary service model is currently in effect.

We are currently welcoming a limited number of volunteers to support our COVID-19 response. With limited programming and our commitment to following CDC guidelines, we’re operating with fewer people for the time being.

If you are a new volunteer to Valley Outreach, please fill out our brief online application. If you are a current volunteer, please sign-up for a shift using the Volunteer Sign-In link on the top of our website.

We are accepting food and clothing donations through a no-contact, drive-up service model on Monday/Wednesday from noon to 3 p.m.

We are accepting financial donations online.

At our food shelf we make it easier for clients to access healthy foods, while promoting individual choice. At our certified SuperShelf people can choose from a variety of products like fresh produce, deli items, milk, eggs, meat and packaged items.

Through our clothing program, clients may select high-quality, like-new clothing at no cost to them. We provide growing kids with clothes that fit, adults with apparel right for their needs, everyone with warm gear for cold weather and the whole family with new socks and underwear.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, group opportunities are limited at this time. Please contact our volunteer manager for more details, kenny.mccoy@valleyoutreachmn.org for more details.

Other Volunteer Opportunities

The following volunteer opportunities support Valley Outreach in offsite locations. These are great opportunities for groups with green thumbs.

  • RCS Giving Garden: Valley Outreach has been the recipient of thousands of pounds of fresh produce from the RCS Giving Garden since 2009. They need help weeding and harvesting their huge garden. Weeding can happen anytime – you just need to meet with Master Gardner Kathy first and she’ll show you what to do. Harvesting includes dropping off whatever you harvest at Valley Outreach right after you harvest! Email Kathy Luoma at kluoma@scoutsft.com to volunteer. The garden is located at Retail Construction Services, 11343 39th Street N., Lake Elmo, MN 55042.
  • Your Own Garden – Plant a row in your own garden and donate the fresh produce you harvest to Valley Outreach.

Youth opportunities are available, some restrictions apply. Review our Youth Guidelines.
