All month long, volunteers from Andersen Corporation have been a steady presence at Valley Outreach — giving their time, energy, and heart to support the community. Every week in October, a group from Andersen rolled up their sleeves to help in the food shelf, clothing program, and warehouse operations.
Their consistency has made a big impact. By showing up week after week, Andersen volunteers have helped keep our programs running smoothly — from stocking shelves and sorting donations to assisting clients as they shop for food and clothing. Their teamwork and enthusiasm have inspired everyone around them.
Traci Norum, Senior Community Relations Specialist at Andersen Corporation, recently shared, “I can trust Valley Outreach to provide an engaging and fun volunteer experience, where our employees not only feel connected to their community, but to one another. I just love Valley Outreach—all of you from top to a bottom, are a joy to work with. No wonder our employees request to come back and volunteer time after time!”
The Power of Volunteers
While donations of food, clothing, and dollars matter deeply, the gift of time is just as essential. Volunteers are truly at the heart of Valley Outreach, helping us deliver services with compassion and care. From creating a welcoming shopping experience to ensuring the shelves are stocked and ready, every volunteer plays a vital role in supporting our mission.
Join the Volunteer Community
Valley Outreach is always welcoming new volunteers who want to make a real difference. Whether you’re looking to help once a week or once a month, there’s a place for you here. We offer a variety of opportunities for individuals, groups, and youth to make a positive impact in the lives of the people we serve.
Volunteer opportunities include supporting our Food Shelf as a donation attendant, warehouse assistant, or food rescue driver. Volunteers can also get involved with StyleXchange, our clothing program and thrift store, by sorting donations or assisting in the store to create a warm, welcoming shopping experience for clients.
It’s easy to get started — simply fill out the Valley Outreach Volunteer Application on our website, and a member of our team will follow up with next steps. All volunteers complete a brief online orientation and receive an on-site tour during their first shift.
We offer flexible volunteer opportunities to fit a variety of schedules. Volunteer shifts are available:
- Mondays: 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
- Tuesdays & Thursdays: 1:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
- Fridays: 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Whether you can commit regularly or just occasionally, your time makes a meaningful difference.
You can choose a time slot and volunteer role that best matches your interests or your group’s availability. Some positions may require additional training, experience, or a background check, but no experience is necessary. All you need is a willingness to help and a compassionate heart. Valley Outreach provides all necessary training and ongoing support for volunteers.
