Growing up, Angela and her family had difficulty making ends meet. Valley Outreach was a place her mother would often visit to get help, and Angela and her siblings would come with. “The people were just amazing. I never felt like I was going to a food shelf.”
As Angela transitioned into adulthood and had children of her own, she was in need of additional support. Her mother said, “Go to Valley Outreach. They are there to help you, no matter the situation. They don’t judge you.” Angela utilized the services at Valley Outreach to help feed her family and get back on her feet.
Today, Angela is opening her own business. She is constantly looking ahead and determined not to let past experiences define the future for her and her children.
“I want to be the change. I don’t want to feel like just because I need help I can’t do it. Everybody needs help and that’s OK.”
