Valley Outreach welcomes youth volunteers to help with the Food Shelf and StyleXchange clothing store! Youth volunteering has so many benefits. Youth volunteers realize lifelong impact including increased self-esteem and responsibility, using new social skills, promoting empathy, having an interest in learning and applying new skills, and overall greater life satisfaction!
General Age Guidelines for Youth Volunteering
Much of our volunteer work is completed in a warehouse environment, so the safety of youth volunteers is paramount. Please adhere to the following age requirements for youth volunteering.
- Teenagers who are 14-15 years old are welcome to volunteer with a parent or guardian sorting clothing. Both the Parent/guardian and youth who want to volunteer must follow the volunteer application process.
- Teenagers 16 and up are welcome to volunteer (no parent or guardian supervision required) in the food shelf and clothing program.
