About Us

Our mission, our staff and how we work.

Valley Outreach is a community-based, community-supported nonprofit organization, governed by a volunteer board of directors representing area community leaders from the public and private sectors and the faith community. We have several committees that assist our board of directors and executive director with the leadership of Valley Outreach.

Valley Outreach has been feeding our hungry neighbors since 1983 and assisting our neighbors in need with other basic services (clothing, household essentials, and emergency financial assistance) since 2005. Before 2005, we were known as the St. Croix Valley Food Shelf and the St. Croix Emergency Food Shelf.

We currently are giving more than 40,000 pounds of food to nearly 400 hungry households every month through our Food Shelf, giving clothing and accessories to more than 350 households every month through The Clothing Closet, and giving an average of $6,500 in emergency financial assistance to about 25 households each month through our Emergency Fund.

Our Mission

Valley Outreach is a bridge between the crisis of the moment and the solution of the future. We help our St. Croix Valley neighbors in need of food, clothing, emergency financial assistance, and other support while respecting their individual dignity and offering them encouragement and hope.
