The feeling in the room on November 3rd was warm and people were excited to part of an evening that gave back to our community. After the always-energetic Dessert Dash and live auction, we were fortunate to hear from Micky. A gracious woman with an engaging presence, Micky shared her story of having “done everything right,” which still didn’t protect her from overwhelming medical bills as she deals with ongoing health issues. Micky uses the food shelf and clothing closet at Valley Outreach to keep herself stable. She also volunteers here and says, “I believe everyone, no matter their circumstances, deserves to be treated with the same kindness and respect as I was treated.
