In 2022, food shelves in Minnesota experienced a record high number of visits– more than 5 million visits across the state! Visits to Valley Outreach food programs increased by 89% during the same time.
To help meet the rising need for help, Valley Outreach is participating in the Minnesota FoodShare March Campaign again this year. For 40 years Valley Outreach has been community powered through drives like the March Campaign. All financial donations between Feb. 27 and April 9, 2023 will be eligible for a proportional match from GMCC (Greater Minneapolis Council of Churches).

What’s better to donate? Food or Money?
The short answer is both. Food drive donations allow Valley Outreach to offer a wider variety of non-perishable foods, personal care items, and household paper goods. Check out our Food Donations page to see our top needed items.
Financial donations go further due to access to food banks and discount purchasing programs, allowing food shelves to purchase items most needed.
